PACTISOUD is proud to highlight three professionals from our team: Jennifer, Hélène, and Gaëlle. These women have managed to make their mark in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
Having all respectively joined between September 2021 and January 2022, these three women bring a new perspective to our workshop thanks to their diverse experiences and skills.
Jennifer, 35, started a welding training course in April 2021 and she specialises in pipe work. Hélène, 33, started a new career by undertaking a nine-month training course in boilermaking in 2021, after a career in real estate. Gaëlle, who joined PACTISOUD in 2021, initially worked on the technical aspects before managing our logistics department.
The manual work, the variety of tasks, and the desire to work in a workshop are some of the reasons that attracted them to this profession. "Versatility is the key to their work at PACTISOUD," explains Hélène. Jennifer and Hélène devote themselves to boilermaking and welding, each with their own specialties, while Gaëlle handles the reception of parcels, the distribution of parts to the boilermakers, and takes care of administrative tasks.
According to them, being a woman in this sector brings many strengths: finesse, perfectionism, calm, rigor and organization. Independence and the success of projects without external help are sources of satisfaction for these three women.
"They appreciate PACTISOUD for the gender equality that prevails there," adds Jennifer, the good relationship between colleagues, the kindness, and the fact that the workshop is equipped for them in terms of handling. They believe that diversity, particularly the introduction of women into these trades, is becoming normalized and developing. However, this requires companies to adapt and equip themselves to accommodate women.
They all encourage women interested in this field to dare to take the plunge. As Gaëlle says, "go for it, you have to get started, do what you like! In addition, the arrival of an apprentice in September, from a general high school diploma, testifies to the sector's openness to diversity.
At PACTISOUD, we are proud to welcome and support these women. Their inspiring stories prove that diversity is not only necessary, but also enriching for everyone.
